8 Days Wildebeest Tanzania Migration Safari
Explore Tours
Overview
The wildebeest migration begins its river crossings in July, moving north through the Lobo and Wagakuria areas on its way to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. By September, the herds are spread across the northern Serengeti and the Masai Mara, with some large groups remaining in the area. Weather changes may bring the herds back from the Mara. In October, the migration heads south, returning to the central Serengeti via the Lobo area.

Tour Plan
From Arusha, we head to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Known for large elephant herds, tree-climbing lions, and iconic baobab trees, the park's Tarangire River is a vital water source during dry seasons. After the drive, enjoy meals at Maramboi Lodge.
Accommodation: Maramboi Lodge
After breakfast, we head to the central Serengeti, renowned for its abundant wildlife, including the "Big Five" lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. Enjoy game drives and explore this iconic area.
Accommodation: Serengeti Katikati Camp
After breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive, following the Great Migration trails. Our expert guide will share fascinating details about this renowned event. Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage site, hosts vast herds of zebras, gazelles, and wildebeest, creating an unforgettable African experience.
Accommodation: Lobo Wildlife Lodge
We’ll spend the day in the Mara area, viewing the Great Migration, with high wildlife numbers in the Wagakuria region.
