We booked a 7-Days privat Safari with Meru Slopes and it's been fantastic. The coordination with Leonard via WhatsApp was very convenient and the itenary built based on out preferences. Our tour guide Robert was the best - you can clearly say his experience and knowledge are on another level. The LandCruiser was brand new, we had wifi and cold drinks on board all the time, the food was superb and we are very grateful for the amazing trip.

We had a wonderful 7-day safari in Tanzania with our guide Robert. He showed us all of the Big Five and many other animals, while sharing lots of interesting information about the wildlife and nature. We were also very happy with the lodges and camps we stayed at and really enjoyed the itinerary from Leonard, including Tarangire, Central Serengeti, Northern Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Safari de rêve avec un très bon rapport qualité/prix avec l’équipe de Meru Slopes. Option: join group Depuis l’organisation avec Laurent qui était très réactif et serviable, Le déroulement du safari avec notre guide Samuel, et nous avons bien mangé avec notre cuisinier Salimo. Et le plus: une nuit d’hôtel gratuit à la fin du safari avec dîner et petit déjeuner. Enfin, nous avons vu les « big five » et pleins d’autres animaux. Je recommande les yeux fermés .

Abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza fantastica in Tanzania! Non pensavamo di poter vedere così tanti animali e soprattutto di riuscire ad avvistarli così da vicino. L’organizzazione è stata ottima, sia durante il safari che per la gestione degli hotel. Ringraziamo Almachius che ha organizzato anche il pernottamento della prima notte e, nonostante un problema avuto con l’hotel dell’ultima notte, si è subito attivato per risolvere la situazione, facendoci anche un upgrade in una struttura migliore. Un ringraziamento speciale va alla nostra guida Jonas, molto preparata, esperta e sempre disponibile. Ha saputo accompagnarci durante tutto il safari con grande professionalità, venendo incontro a ogni nostra esigenza. Un grazie anche al nostro chef Dulla, davvero bravissimo! Ci ha preparato ogni giorno pasti deliziosi, prestando attenzione ai nostri gusti, a ciò che ci piaceva e alle nostre esigenze. È stata un’esperienza bellissima, che consigliamo sicuramente a chi vuole vivere un vero safari in Tanzania. Serious concerns about wildlife protection I chose Meru Slopes because I specifically wanted to support a local Tanzanian company. Unfortunately, my safari in Serengeti left me deeply disappointed and concerned—not only about this operator, but about wildlife tourism and enforcement in Tanzania more broadly. We witnessed a mother cheetah with three cubs surrounded by more than 20 safari vehicles. Vehicles were speeding, leaving designated tracks and stopping just 1–2 metres from the cheetahs. Our own vehicle came dangerously close to hitting them, as did others. The mother became visibly distressed, and everyone in our vehicle was shouting and upset. The next day, our vehicle nearly hit a serval. We avoided it only because the passengers screamed when we realized the animal was about to be hit. Later, another safari vehicle struck a zebra, leaving it bleeding beside the road. What disturbed me most was the apparent indifference toward its suffering. I insisted that we contact someone who could help. Later, our guide told us he had called a “zoo” that would take the zebra and help it recover. Because of the language barrier, I cannot verify who he contacted or what happened afterward, so I do not want to make accusations. On our way back to Arusha, our vehicle also struck a dog and continued without stopping. I have done safaris in Kenya, including the Masai Mara during the same month three years ago. I saw significantly more wildlife there, but what struck me even more was the difference in enforcement: guides respected wildlife and park authorities appeared to enforce the rules. I cannot scientifically prove that the lack of enforcement is why I saw fewer animals in Serengeti, but the contrast was striking. I currently cannot recommend Tanzania for safari to travelers who care deeply about wildlife welfare. I sincerely hope the authorities impose meaningful measures regarding speed, off-road driving, vehicle congestion and wildlife protection. Tanzania’s wildlife deserves better.

We had a great time during our 6 day safari with a lovely tour guide and chef. The only thing is: we don‘t know why they are still doing the safari to Lake Manyara, because it is almost completely flooded (no more flamingos). The pictures that are advertised are not up to date!

Female travelers, please be cautious. During my tour,the tour guide touched me twice without my permission. I told him directly that I was uncomfortable, but I still found the behavior very inappropriate. Whatever the intention was, I don't think touching a guest without consent should be considered a joke, especially coming from a tour guide. Esperienza perfetta! Meru Slopes è una garanzia: organizzazione impeccabile sotto ogni punto di vista, dagli alloggi, ai pranzi, alle tempistiche ma soprattutto grazie alla nostra guida FRANK! Non avremmo potuto avere guida migliore, ci ha spiegato qualsiasi cosa, ha fatto di tutto per farci vedere tutti i big five e anche gli ugly five, gentilissimo e super disponibile!
