 Verified A journey of a lifetime, but as always when you go on a safari ... the driver and guide makes all the difference.
MeruSlope provided us with an unforgettable experience and was exceptionally attentive and accommodating when it came to our special requests. We would especially like to thank Leonard, the safari organizer, for putting together such a truly memorable safari. We opted for the five-day tour starting in Arusha, taking us through Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park — including its somewhat remote northern regions — and the Ngorongoro Crater and its rim. We spent four nights in outstanding, exceptionally comfortable lodges. We would describe the entire journey as a truly breathtaking experience, not only because of the extraordinary wildlife and the overwhelming beauty and abundance of nature we were able to witness, but also thanks to our driver and guide David. He took us to places where we could observe animals in their natural habitat from much closer than we ever expected and, throughout the entire journey, shared his extensive knowledge and fascinating insights into the local tribes, wildlife, and landscapes with us. His expertise added so much to the experience as we travelled through landscapes as diverse as the vast plains of the Serengeti, the mountains and volcanoes around Ngorongoro, and the surrounding forests. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine passion for the region made the safari an unforgettable experience. No question remained unanswered, every wish he fulfilled with passion an pride.  Verified The Best Safari Tour Experience
Meru Slopes is the real deal. They had everything organized from picking me up at my hotel to my departure from Arusha. We were well taken cared of the whole time we are on the tour - making sure we're comfortable in our accommodations and are safe. We had the best meal in the camp (thanks, Yohani, you're the best chef!!!) and the best guide/driver (thanks, Heli). I also want to give a shoutout to Ignas who has been sooo patient when I was booking the tour, answering all my questions and even made the effort to orient me the day before the tour and show me around Arusha when I came back from safari. Ignas is a gem (thanks, Ignas). So if you're planning to go on Safari, I highly recommend Meru Slopes.

Our 5-day private safari with Meru Slopes was absolutely impeccable from start to finish. From our very first conversation and throughout the reservation process, Shadrack was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. He took the time to amend and explain the entire booking process making it easy and reassuring, every request was catered for without hesitation. Then we were oh-so-blessed to have the most amazing driver and guide, Sumwel. He was professional, respectful, cautious and incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. More than anything, he genuinely cared for us like family. We always felt safe and well looked after, and his knowledge of the parks and wildlife made our safari experience even more special. We were also fortunate enough to have a brand-new safari vehicle, which made the long and sometimes strenuous drives so much more comfortable. I truly cannot recommend Meru Slopes enough. Everything was organised beautifully, and knowing that they are also a locally owned Tanzanian company made choosing them feel even more rewarding.  Verified Stop looking and book a safari with Meru Slopes with Omari as your guide--you'll be glad you did!
Great choice to book a safari! I spent a long time communicating with 26 different safari agencies, and slowly whittled it down to three and ended up choosing Meru Slopes, and I'm very glad I did! We did a 7-day, 6-night trip through the Crater and Serengeti and everything went very well. It started with our Sales Rep Shadrack who, over the course of several months, answered countless questions and a handful of itinerary revisions and was always pleasant and helpful. But the #1 key thing that makes for a great safari is the guide. Our guide was Omari and he was exceptional. He has an uncanny knack for being able to find the most interesting sightings. He uses the 2-way radio to find some, but even when we're out alone with no other safari vehicles around, he found great stuff. And when you get to sightings where there are already many vehicles there, he always seems to be able to get the best spot for photo ops. We must have asked him 200 questions over the course of the week, and he knew the answer to about 198 of them, and when he didn't know a couple, he just admitted it rather than fudge an answer. Plus, he's the nicest, humblest, most helpful guy you'll find anywhere. If we (or any of our friends or relatives) come to Tanzania for safari, we will definitely make sure we go with Omari and Meru Slopes again. (And you should too, and be sure to ask for Omari by name.)

 Verified 8 days Lemosho Kilimanjaro with best guides
We did the Kilimanjaro summit with Meru Slopes as a couple. We were very happy about our decision to do the Lemosho Route in 8 days. This made sure to have good acclimacation (some only do 7 days) and a very beautiful scenery, which has been different every day. It was a great experience with our tour guide Julius and co-guide Alex. Both took care of us all the time and always checked how we feel and what are our needs. They did an amazing job with timings, taking care of us, telling and showing us interesting things about the nature and Kilimanjaro. They even carried our backpacks for the summit and Julius brought Vaseline for dry skin. The food was always freshly cooked by the chef who came with us. Very delicious. Vegetarian possible. Also some additional wishes possible. Additionally, they always brought juice and snacks for the whole day, you don't need to bring any food or water. On the last day they also made it possible to try Ugali (traditional Tanzanian food they eat all day). Julius and Alex showed us how to eat it. Also the chef Omary, our waiter Eden Masaki (for bringing food/tea/washing water to the tent), the extra porter for the summit Mapeke and all the porters (Eliaja, Paulo, Samweli, Jackson, Abeid, Gaston, Dotto, Athuman, Victor) have been very kind and they were an amazing team. We have had a spacious 4-men-tent only for 2 people. By night, the team even guarded it so that nobody else is able to enter. Actually we booked a group tour with Jerome, with whom we had a very good exchange for the planning part. When we arrived in Moshi we found out we would be only the two of us in the end. Thanks a lot to Julius, Alex and the whole crew for making this experience beautiful and unforgettable.

We had a terrific experience with Meru Slopes and especially Gift Tembo and our guide Julius. Both were incredibly attentive and genuinely invested in our receiving an exceptional experience. We had numerous close encounters with Africa’s big game - it was truly remarkable. Additionally it was our 40th Wedding Anniversary which they ensured was celebrated at every lodge. I had the pleasure of working with Jerome in planning our once in a lifetime trip. He was very professional and responsive to all my questions/concerns via email and WhatsApp. Much to our delight, we were assigned Chiko as our driver/guide. He knew every curve, pothole and washed out areas on the roads. He was constantly multitasking with his exceptional driving, giving us information and answering questions about what we were seeing and always spotting the wildlife that was unbelievably camouflaged. His English was great and his knowledge of Tanzania and the Sarangeti was so informative. He was friendly, quick with a joke and very easy going. He knew when to go "slowly, slowly", and when to speed up to an animal siting. You would do yourself a huge favor to request Chiko when you are making your safari plans. All of the lodges and luxury tents were clean, comfortable and welcoming. However, special shutouts go to "Sightseeing Luxury Tented Lodge" where the manager Angel ran a wonderful staff and the beautiful Caroline greeted you with the warmest smile for breakfast and dinner. Also, just so you never forget that you are in the wild, on our last night a pride of lions killed an African Buffalo not far from our Tent. Another shout out goes to the "Naserian Safari Camp". First class accommodations and terrific food from Chef Amos. All in all, choosing Meru Slopes was a wonderful decision. We had the most wonderful safari trip imaginable (8 days). The experience was great, we had a very experienced guide, Max, who showed us the best parts of Tanzania wildlife. We saw three river crossings, three times lions attack other animals, and of course the big five. I found Meru slopes because a friend also had booked a trip with them and he was very positive. Can only agree with him, our trip was amazing as well :) only tip I have is that you might want to check the food if you are vegetarian or vegan, most of the time it’s fine but for me lunch went wrong one time (after that Max was paying more attention to it to make sure it was correct the days after).

Excellent ! I left a lengthy review on Trip Advisor also because this company was incredible. The Safari was run professionally, we saw Central and Northern Serengeti and Ngorongoro, the Big5 and the Wildebeest migration amongst countless other animals.
The Toyota Land Cruiser we used was in great condition, the driver was knowledgeable and professional, the food we ate was tasty, simple and healthy. The campsites had adequate toilets and showers. My liaison from the company arranged airport transfer the day after we finished at no extra cost. Everyone who worked for the Meru Slopes was kind, calm, professional, knowledgeable and hard working. We had no issues on our entire trip, and we spent A LOT of time on game drives compared to other companies. Highly recommend Meru Slopes, and I will suggest them to any friends or family coming to Africa.

En líneas generales la experiencia fue buena, tanto antes de llegar como una vez allí, nuestro contacto fue Leonard y nos gestionó el itinerario tal como nosotros habíamos pedido. Los alojamientos fueron adecuados, sobre todo el del Serengeti que fue una maravilla. Sin embargo, el lado menos positivo fue que el guía que nos tocó no estuvo a la altura de lo que un viaje así requiere, ya que es la persona con la que vas a compartir 5 o 6 días enteros del viaje y tiene que hacer la experiencia inolvidable. No voy a dar detalles ya que en su momento lo comenté con Leonard, que en todo momento estuvo predispuesto a preguntarnos y a escuchar nuestros puntos de vista y nuestras quejas. Además, cuando ya teníamos que volver a España (y fue una semana después de haber hecho el safari ya que regresábamos desde Zanzíbar) tuvimos un problema con los vuelos de vuelta y Leonard se ofreció a ayudarnos, aunque finalmente no lo necesitamos, le estamos muy agradecidos por ese gesto. En resumen, Meru Slopes es una empresa 100% fiable para hacer un safari en Tanzania, te harán el viaje a medida, los hoteles que incluyen están muy bien, la comida es buena ya que comíamos caliente y no cajas de picinic como vi de otras empresas, pero el guía debe de estar a la altura para que el viaje sea inolvidable. Como último consejo, os animo a todos aquellos que queráis hacer un safari, que penséis en la vida de los animales salvajes, vamos a visitarles a su casa y no todo vale para estar al lado de ellos, hay que respetar su hábitat y hacer un turismo respetuoso si queremos generar el menor impacto posible en su ecosistema, que aún ya haciendo todo eso, el impacto del ser humano en ellos es demasiado grande.

Du début jusqu'à la fin nous avons eu une très bonne prise en charge.
Kelvin avec lequel j'ai échangé en privé par message s'est montré très à l'écoute et arrangeant en nous offrant une nuit en plus a cause de changement d'horaire d'avion.
Grâce à notre excellent guide Samwel,nous avons pu voir beaucoup d'animaux, le big five et bien d'autres permettant a mon amie de réaliser le rêve d'une vie.
Il a été parfait du début à la fin du séjour.
Les logements étaient très agréable ainsi que tous les hôtes qui nous ont reçus.
La nourriture est excellente.

Despite a few challenges along the way, everything came together beautifully...🤍🤍🤍 From airport transfers and delicious halal food arrangements to our city tour, every detail was seamlessly executed. Whenever we had a concern, it was addressed promptly.🌟

A special mention to our wonderful guides, Rasheedi and especially Jacob, who accompanied us for most of our safari. Jacob was truly the highlight of our journey! Patient, knowledgeable, entertaining with our children, has exceptional driving skills, speed and safety at its best—he made the long road journeys enjoyable and comfortable.

Thanks to his experience, planning, and connections, we witnessed incredible wildlife, saw the Big Five, and most importantly, experienced the Great Migration from what felt like the front row 🌟✨️

We had an amazing experience with Meru Slopes and I would definitely recommend them!

From the very beginning, Gift was helping us through WhatsApp and was always very kind and patient, answering all of our questions and helping us organize everything before the trip. It made us feel very safe and well taken care of.

Our guide, Joel, was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, attentive and, most importantly, really wanted us to have the best experience possible. He was always looking for animals and explaining everything to us. We saw so many incredible things during the safari, and I honestly think having a good guide makes a huge difference — and Joel was definitely a great one!

Our cook, Buga, also deserves a special mention. The food was much better than we expected for a camping safari! Every meal was delicious and he always prepared everything with so much care.

Another thing we really appreciated was that our time in Arusha before and after the safari was included in the package. They picked us up at the airport, took us back after the trip, and everything was very well organized. We also had a guide take us around Arusha and show us a little bit of the city, which was a really nice extra.

Overall, we felt very well taken care of from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The whole experience was much more than just the safari itself. It was organized, safe, fun and full of amazing memories.

Das absolute Highlight der ganzen Safari war Shadrack, der uns die Safari verkauft hat. Er hat uns sowohl vor, während als auch nach der Safari betreut und sichergestellt, dass wir eine wunderbare Zeit geniessen durfte. Beispielsweise kam mein Koffer nicht am Flughafen an. Er hat sich der Sache angenommen und noch am gleichen Tag, war der Koffer bei uns im Hotel.
Wo wir ein bisschen weniger Glück hatten waren unser Guide und Koch. Der Guide wusste zwar sehr gut Bescheid, leider hat er von sich aus kaum Informationen mit der Gruppe geteilt. Beim Essen haben wir bei anderen Gruppen von Meru Slopes gesehen, dass ihr Essen deutlich besser waren. Es ist also ein wenig glücksabhängig, welcher Guide und Koch einem zugeordnet wird.
Dank Shadrack seinem Einsatz sind die 5 Sterne aber völlig verdient und wir empfehlen Meru Slopes.

We had a fantastic experience. We went on a five-day safari with Dula (the cook) and Daniel (the tour guide and driver). They showed us the true face of nature. We saw beautiful sights and gained a wealth of wonderful experiences. Daniel and Dula are amazing people: kind, cheerful, and humorous, with a deep understanding of nature. We wanted to get close to nature, and we certainly did. Daniel was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, always ensuring we had the best possible experience. Thanks to him, we saw many fascinating animals, observed their behavior, and learned a great deal about Tanzania’s wildlife and culture. Dula is an excellent cook and always made sure we never went hungry. Everything was perfect! Our thanks go to Daniel and Dula, as well as the team at Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Booked a 5 day safari tour with Meru, everything went very well.  The accommodations were very nice.  Nuru, the driver/guide was great.  He was very knowledgeable, got to all the right spots so I was able to see everything I was hoping to see.  All the flights, pickup and transfers were on time and went without a glitch.  This was a big worry for me, as my itinerary was somewhat complicated.  Big "Thank You" to Laurant, my contact at Meru.
