8 Days Luxury Wild Frontiers Chasing the Mara River Crossing

After an early breakfast and packing a lunch, you will proceed on a wildlife drive in Tarangire National Park. The greatest concentration of breeding bird species and elephants in the world can be found in this lovely park. Animals abound in Tarangire National Park, especially in the dry season. In addition to the rarely seen kudu, oryx, and gerenuks, there are lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Predators take down wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras that migrate to the Tarangire River. You will travel to Lemala Mpingo Ridge for dinner and an overnight stay in the late afternoon.

Following breakfast, the Serengeti journey will continue, and you will arrive at Serengeti National Park early in the afternoon. The game drive will continue there until the late evening, at which point you will be treated to a breathtaking sunset over the plains of the Serengeti. In the late evening, you will ride to your lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

Some of Tanzania's most exciting animal experiences can be had on a full-day game drive in the Central Serengeti. This region is well known for its year-round wildlife abundance, with large plains interspersed with kopjes that are ideal homes for big cats. Prides of lions relaxing on the rocks, cheetahs surveying the horizon, and leopards sleeping in acacia trees are frequently seen by tourists. Elephants and giraffes glide across the savanna, as large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebras roam the plains. The Central Serengeti offers an amazing safari experience full of excitement and exploration because to its vast diversity and striking beauty.

On this day, you will get up early, and eat a hearty breakfast. Then, you'll begin your game drive in the Central Serengeti before moving on to the Northern Serengeti to ensure that you track the migration of wildebeest. While the wildebeest calving occurs from January to March, the great migration varies annually; the best time to see it is from July to Early October. Our driver will be able to take you to the northern Serengeti, where you can witness the great wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. After a full day of wildlife viewing, you'll return to your lodging for dinner and spend the night in Nimali Mara along the Mara. Millions of these magnificent creatures roam all year long in search of new grazing pastures and follow the rainfall in Serengeti.

A day spent in Northern Serengeti during the migration season is truly spectacular. Game drives here bring you close to the drama of the Mara River crossings, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras surge across the waters while crocodiles lie in wait. The area is also rich with predators’ lions, cheetahs, and leopards take advantage of the migration’s abundance while elephants, giraffes, and hippos add to the diversity of sightings. With rolling hills, riverine forests, and endless plains, Northern Serengeti offers unforgettable wildlife encounters and the thrilling spectacle of nature’s greatest show.

After leaving the Northern Serengeti, the drive south reveals a variety of scenery, from rolling hills dotted with Maasai communities to boundless plains teeming with migrating herds. Game drives display elephants gliding through acacia woods and predators following the migration. Travelers ascend into the chilly, foggy Ngorongoro Highlands by late afternoon, when the savanna is replaced by verdant trees and expansive panoramas. In order to prepare for the drop into the crater the next morning, the day ends with a stay on the crater rim, which offers stunning views of the biggest preserved caldera in the world.

After breakfast, you will make your way to Ngorongoro Crater, you will descend this magnificent caldera, and embark on an early morning wildlife drive. Approximately 30,000 animals, including the Big Five, are housed there. Elephants, zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, baboons, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and the endangered black rhino are among the many animals that inhabit the crater. The crater is so realistic-looking with its changing clouds and vibrant colors. Because of its breathtaking natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater was named one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders.
