Chemka Hot Springs, also known locally as Kikuletwa Hot Springs or Maji Moto, is a natural geothermal oasis located near the village of Rundugai, between the towns of Moshi and Arusha in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania. The name “Chemka” means “boiling” in Swahili although the water doesn’t boil, it bubbles up through underground streams, emerging as a warm, crystal-clear spring nestled among fig and palm trees.
This secluded paradise is known for its stunning turquoise waters, gentle warm temperature (around 27°C/80°F), and vibrant natural scenery. It offers a perfect blend of relaxation and soft adventure, making it a popular day-trip destination for travelers staying in Moshi or Arusha.
